A purple book
In late 1999 somebody took me to a London bookshop, selected a purple book from the shelf, opened it up and put it into my hands. When I looked down I saw a drawing of a human body with a structure around it. A strange sensation overwhelmed me - my whole body began to tingle as I looked at the page. The image was new yet strangely familiar. I decided to buy the book.
At home, I opened up the book - it was Kryon book 7 - and began to read. I got to the chapter about the EMF Balancing Technique. Right from the very first word, I was totally enthralled by it. I couldn't put it down! I became more and more excited as I rushed through the chapter. I read that the technique is very much like "tracing crop circle patterns through the human energy field". There was something about those words that touched me - my heart lurched and I instantly knew that this was what I was going to do.
A beautiful dance
A few months later on Practitioner Training I watched Peggy Phoenix Dubro perform graceful, fluid movements around someone's energy field and say aloud certain words. It looked like a beautiful dance. She seemed to be tracing different patterns through the energy field and although the general feel was very fluid, the movements had definite beginnings and stops - there was a definition about them that I liked. The words that I heard seemed to somehow 'fit' the movements. I had never seen anything like it and was fascinated - it all looked so new and different. I couldn't wait to try it myself!
The sessions themselves seemed to be made up of a sequence of these movements and words (spoken intents) - they were put together in a certain way and had a very real structure, which also appealed to me. I instantly understood and respected that there were reasons why they were being performed in this way and in this order - and it made sense that it was important to keep the sessions intact.
A universal pattern
I noticed that there was no analysing of the person's energy field and no diagnosing. Peggy was not commenting on imbalances or trying to fix anything. She was merely following a series of movements and then stepping back. I remember the feeling of relief! To me this technique looked like a real honouring of who that person was without any need to interfere. I felt the energy of empowerment it represented.
It was obvious to me that Peggy Phoenix Dubro had spent many years lovingly perfecting these movements and intents. What I understood was that using her understanding and sight, Peggy had put together a specific series of movements which when performed precisely and done in a certain order, had a profound effect upon this part of the energy field. It was a universal pattern to which each of us would respond uniquely, according to our inner wisdom. Peggy asked us to follow this set pattern of movements and words and with the same integrity and respect I sensed she had shown to us and to the technique, I faithfully adhered to it.
When the training was over, I went home and took every opportunity to practise these beautiful movements exactly as I had been taught. I repeated them over and over again, each time aiming to make them a little bit more graceful and precise. It was very enjoyable and the more I practised, the more I began to appreciate their beauty and importance. I read all the recommended books, I studied the technique, I asked questions and I practised as much as I could. Every session I performed provided me with clearer insights, deeper understandings and new experiences. I began to understand more about the EMF Balancing Technique and the reasons why it was done in this way.
I aimed to give each person who came to me the best possible service by representing the work in the most professional and the most accurate way I could. As I did this, I began to feel as if I was a part of something. I was not alone, tucked away on a damp and rainy island! I was part of a worldwide community, connected to everyone else doing the same work and this encouraged me. I wanted to take a more active role and so I decided to become a teacher.
Following the pattern
As an EMF Balancing Technique teacher I impress upon every practitioner the importance of performing the movements as precisely as possible and of following the set pattern, never omitting or adding anything and never breaking off to do something else. As I teach I regularly have first-hand experience of witnessing how much difference a slight adjustment or a small refinement of a movement makes.
With every class I aim to teach in the best way I can and I encourage each person to be the best practitioner they can. I remind practitioners that they are part of a community of people doing exactly the same thing all over the world. For me, doing the work in this way has enabled me to grow into my potential and it is wonderful to watch those who do the same grow and blossom too.
Certified EMF Balancing Technique practitioners all over the world follow the same pattern with their clients, but each client's experience of the sessions is always unique - so it is never boring! It's a wonderful paradox - we are all so similar, yet all so unique!
Energy work with form
A technique of energy work with form and structure which involves following a set pattern is a new departure for many, especially those among us who have always worked intuitively. Peggy is aware of this and in her book 'Elegant Empowerment' writes:
"Developing and teaching a systematic procedure was not always comfortable for me, as I was always a 'go with the flow, do what you feel' kind of person. The Universe has a delicious and wise sense of humor. How else to explain the irony of my job? A go-with-the-flow gal like me teaching an exacting and precise procedure primarily to those who seek freedom from the restrictions of form! Many of you who already do energy work have done so to escape restrictions, and I deeply understand this desire. However, I must tell you that mastering procedure and form can lead you to an even greater freedom and effectiveness of expression!!"
A martial art of the heart
Peggy continues: "Can you still become one with the energy if you use a technique or follow a form? Absolutely. Think of the powerful demonstration of oneness exhibited by a martial artist who follows a distinct procedure in order to merge and become one with "chi" or "ki" energies. The EMF Balancing Technique is like a martial art of the energy of the heart. Following its form releases tremendous amounts of love energy.
I characterise this work as a martial art of the heart, with "martial" referring to the strong and active intelligence that is inherent in spiritual well being. I like the analogy of the martial artist - the more practised and precise the practitioner's movements, the stronger the calibration and balance for both the client and the practitioner. During a recent radio interview with a distinguished Hawaiian healer, I was delighted when he commented how awesome it would be if energy workers put the same amount of commitment and practice into our work as those who practise the martial arts!"
I like to think of myself as practising and teaching a martial art of the heart - releasing more and of the energy of love is a wonderful goal and a great incentive to practise!
A specific sequence for a specific response - respectfully
The EMF Balancing Technique sessions are put together in a specific way so that as practitioners follow the set pattern, a resonance is created and a specific response is generated. Many of the movements resemble tai chi in their grace, fluidity and evenness and the aim is to perform them as precisely as possible, avoiding any bouncing or shaking of the hands or sudden breaking-off. As the practitioner's hands move through the energy field, a wave is created and the client's energy responds and naturally begins to rearrange itself into the next level of balance - any deviation from the pattern interferes with this process and so lessens the effect.
Many clients comment on how safe and nurtured they feel during the sessions. This is because the sequence of movements has a deep yet very gentle effect. Following the set pattern ensures that practitioners are carefully working with the client's energy field, layer by layer, always respectfully and in a non-invasive manner.
An account from Canada
The use of form in energy work is one of the characteristics of working in the new energy dynamics. This was one of the topics covered at the annual 2002 EMF Balancing Technique gathering I attended in France. Gisele Proulx, a teacher in Canada, spoke about her own experience of the importance of precision. Here's what she said.
"...So now when I practice EMF I insist so much on the precision of all the moves, exactly like Peggy taught us, and the way she has asked us all to respect it. After practising EMF for a few months, I met Peggy when she was giving yet another UCL. I don't often speak to Peggy because my English is not very rich, so you can see my English is not any better than my French! But what I did share with her was that my clients were experiencing more and more enriching experiences, and the results were even better. And without any hesitation she told me, looking at me straight in the eyes (I bet you're anxious to know what she said, right?) She said, "It is because your technique is even more precise". I wasn't expecting that! I thought she was going to tell me "it's because you are more evolved", but no. And this answer is exactly what I was coming to get on that day. It had just begun resonating with me.
Later I went to do my teacher training, and this allowed me to revise and refine even more my technique. Every time I teach this, I refine it more and more. What marvellous work this is, don't you think? So when I teach I really insist with my practitioners on the integrity of the EMF work. I think it's a question of respect and honour, especially towards Peggy who was mandated to share this work with us. This work for me is so sacred.
You know that I am so happy doing EMF sessions and really focusing on all the moves and repeating the intents as well. My work is to allow this person to connect with his own innate intelligence and to listen to his own intuition. I never ever interfere with the work that's being done, and I really insist on making sure that the intents are very clear because I realise that people don't have an innate skill when it comes to saying an intent or making a request. It's difficult for them to say that in positive words. So above all, I am in service to my client, even if I as a practitioner receive so much. My clients are transformed so beautifully, just like yours. Is it not extraordinary to see people being transformed, going from Phase I to Phase IV? And to see them become empowered and take their life into their own hands. Beautiful gifts, every time."
The message? Practise, practise, practise!
As a teacher one of the things I find particularly heart-warming is seeing people with little or no experience of energy work, but with a deep desire to learn, actually be able to simply follow the pattern and give excellent sessions. How empowering - we are all equal - this is for everyone!
Spoken intents
As with the movements, the words in the spoken intents are also exactly the same in every language all over the world and Peggy has requested that practitioners follow these precisely. They too have been carefully chosen, allowing for the deepest response. Peggy writes: "I know some of the say alouds are long and it will take some time to become familiar with them. These words are a necessary part of the session. They are meant to encourage the client into the energetic posture of self-empowerment."
For Helene Canet, a teacher and practitioner in Switzerland, the spoken intents are a powerful accompaniment to the movements. Here is what she said at the 2002 annual meeting in France.
"...and I want to talk to you about the EMF intents. All the movements that you do in EMF are so powerful, and it required time for me to really feel that the intents are also very powerful, and creative, and they give to the other their own responsibility. And let us listen to what these intents are telling us beyond the words alone. You are Light, you are Power, you are Creator, therefore be Light, now, here, not in your next life. You are powerful beyond all expression. This is what we're saying with these intents, and I know, just like you do, that Peggy has invested years choosing these words - its not that easy, it's not "well, today, let's say this". She experimented - I'm so convinced of this - and the words that she chose, they have a place in their work on our body and our soul.
The real message and the only awareness, consciousness, that I put into it, is the same awareness that I take to select the words in my everyday life. I put in this same awareness, consciousness when I say these intents and I received the gift that when I gave this gift to others, I was giving it to myself as well. I don't know about you, but when I do a session on someone, I really AM this movement. And these words that I say, very often I myself feel as if I were praying for the entire planet. I don't know about you, but when I say "from the Creator within me to the Creator within you", the magic begins and it continues for a long time afterwards and after I have finished saying "I honour you and the Creator within you". And I forgot to tell you about the secret - the great secret to finally succeed in the making of this word, not a word that is repeated without thinking, but a creation - that great secret - you know what it is: practice, practice, practice!"
Importance of the intents
When I teach I also emphasize to practitioners the importance of adhering to the words and explain that the intents complement and magnify the effects of the movements. They keep the client focused, involved, aware and in the energy of self-empowerment. So the spoken intents are an integral and essential part of the sessions, which encourage the client to consciously accept responsibility for their own personal role in the balancing process. Also, taking home and reviewing the words spoken during the session is empowering as it gives clients the opportunity to reinforce the effects of the session themselves.
Many people comment on the beauty and strength of the words and they often remember certain phrases that are meaningful to them. Speaking aloud has also proved very empowering for me personally - it has helped me to find my own voice and express myself. It has definitely contributed to making me much more self-confident and more comfortable in speaking for myself with integrity not only in my work, but also in my everyday life.
I always follow the intents closely. I have been giving sessions for almost three years now - I am yet to be bored and the words are continually revealing new and deeper meanings!
Consistent quality
As practitioners and teachers of the EMF Balancing Technique we build the reputation of the work as we respectfully follow and teach the pattern of the sessions. The more we do this, the more that greater, consistent, repeatable quality is created worldwide for the work. Every time a practitioner performs a session precisely, it enhances the reputation of every practitioner worldwide who is doing the same. And every time a teacher teaches the core material as requested by Peggy, it enhances the reputation of every teacher worldwide who is doing the same.
All over the world, anywhere in the world, people can come for an EMF Balancing Technique session or for an EMF Balancing Technique Training, and be assured of what they will be receiving.
Because of this worldwide consistency, the client knows exactly what the practitioner will be doing in the sessions and participates in the process as they listen to the words being spoken, silently giving the same intent. The practitioner respectfully follows the pattern, then steps back, aware that they are a facilitator, encouraging the client's inner wisdom to shine forth. This all adds up to self-empowerment and self-enablement for both client and practitioner.
What are we aiming for? For practitioners and teachers to be associated with an organisation and a technique known for quality and good results. Everyone wins - there is no need for competition! I feel honoured to be part of this.
As Peggy likes to say "My empowerment is your empowerment and your empowerment is my empowerment." I have found that empowering other people in this way has brought me in return many wonderful blessings in my life - I am experiencing my own empowerment and I am continuing to blossom and grow!
