Please, turn the power down!
 Français

"Please, turn the power down!", I prayed, "But don't turn it off," I mumbled as I was finally able to get to sleep. It was the night of the third day of the EMF Balancing Technique, and I was experiencing myself as an energetic being for the first time in my life. It was keeping me awake!

"I never feel this energy stuff"

My co-worker Nancy and I entered the room. It was Friday evening, and we were here for the Universal Calibration Lattice Workshop. This was the beginning of what was to be a week-long, intensive practitioner training in EMF Balancing, run by Peggy and Steve Dubro, the originators of the EMF Balancing Technique.

Steve Dubro sat, smiling, at a table just inside the door, handing out name tags and papers of information. Eight-foot folding tables were set up in two rows filling the room. We sat at the tables facing the front of the room and a large pad of paper on an easel. Looking nervously around, I could see 14 others sitting, fidgeting, waiting, talking, reading. Peggy Dubro entered the front of the room, her blond hair like a golden cloud framing her face, her graceful hands and smile warmly welcoming. I relaxed just a bit. After a short introduction, she gathered us in a circle at the front of the room, to demonstrate the energy that we were here to work with. Holding left hands palm up to receive and right hands palm down to send, we moved so that our hands were within 3 to 6 inches of our neighbor's hands. After we closed our eyes, Peggy asked us to feel the energy. I waited, felt a little warmth, nothing unexpected. I wasn't surprised; I never feel this energy stuff.

What is the EMF Balancing Technique?

Peggy described the EMF Balancing Technique as an energy technique to balance the electromagnetic field that surrounds and permeates our bodies. The technique clears and balances a structure called the Universal Calibration Lattice within our electromagnetic fields. The Universal Calibration Lattice is our individual connection with the Universal Energy Source. It all sounds quite technical, but basically the EMF Balancing Technique allows for clearing, strengthening, and balancing of our own electromagnetic structure so that we may fully connect with, receive energy from, and utilize Universal Energy.

The EMF Balancing Technique is given in four phases. Phase I connects and balances the head and the heart, allowing the client to guide the mind in a balanced way through the heart and alternatively balance the emotions with the mind. Utilizing the energies of mind and heart in harmony, instead of at the expense of one or the other.

Phase II works with the stored past experiences within the client's electromagnetic field. Each life experience, positive or negative, is stored within the field. These memory stores can act as either sources of learning and wisdom or as an anchor, keeping the individual weighed down and unable to move forward, repeating patterns of negative behaviors. The EMF Balancing Technique in Phase II works to clear the field of these 'anchors' and recalibrate them to become sources of wisdom that the client may draw upon to make conscious present and future choices.

Phase III aligns the client with his/her core energy. An individual aligned with his/her core energy is able to maintain a centered space and intentionally radiate calming energy, even when standing within an emotionally tumultuous situation. Finding the eye of the hurricane, if you will.

Phase IV energetically connects the client with his/her future potential self. Phase IV enables past and present to work synchronistically so that the client may co-create a desired future.

Once a client has received all four phases, he or she may repeat one or all of the phases, depending on the demands of their present life circumstances.

I felt a fountain of energy
On our first full day, we began working as practitioners with Phase I. Peggy described the process and background for Phase I. She drew diagrams and answered questions until she was sure we each understood what we would be doing. Peggy's direct, clear, and loving communication style held my interest.

When it came time to pick partners, I felt a little reticent and didn't jump right in and ask someone. I was left without a partner because our group had 15 participants. Not sure how they worked this out, I approached Peggy and Steve for help. To my delight, I found out that Peggy would demonstrate each move on me as her client as she verbally described the directions for the class to follow. Steve would make a circuit of the room, aiding practitioners in performing movements correctly as Peggy taught. I would then work as practitioner on Steve.

We "clients" took our places on the tables turned into massage tables by the addition of some foam padding and sheets. Peggy made sure I was comfortable and feeling secure. She then gently and confidently began demonstrating Phase I. I closed my eyes and relaxed. There is very little touching of the client in the EMF Balancing Technique; most of the work is done above the body in the energy field. I felt air moving about as Peggy moved energy through my field and a growing sense of gentle joy. I found myself glad to be there.

Two-thirds of the way through the session, Peggy connected my head and my heart with an energetic template set by touching the shoulders, heart, and forehead lightly. She then pulled energy up through the core of my body and sealed it with a symbol drawn above my body. Suddenly, I felt a fountain of energy, which I perceived as white light. It began at both shoulders, raced in to meet at my high heart area and exploded up and out. The perception was so strong and the effect so sudden I was startled.

Throughout the rest of the session, I experienced a growing sense of delight and joy. It was more than just the thrill of actually having felt something, though I was thrilled. I am happy to say that this joyful feeling became the norm for me while working with this energy. There was now no question in my mind that this energy work was powerful stuff.

Could it be that I have issues?
The following day, Peggy taught Phase II carefully and descriptively, punctuated by smiles and laughter. Phase II is all about releasing past life events and issues. Having been through spiritual development courses before, I knew how powerful releasing old issues could be. Of course, I wasn't concerned about myself. After all, I'd already done that. Hah!

I paired up with a woman. We decided that I would be the client first and she would be the practitioner. I lay down on the table and prepared to relax and drift. Peggy directed the practitioners through the opening parts of Phase II.

To my consternation, I found myself fidgety and uncomfortable. I wanted to be anywhere else but on that table. I struggled with myself to settle down, thinking, "Could it be there are issues that I still need to release? Issues that I don't want to deal with? How is this possible when I've done so much work already? When is this darn Phase II going to be done with anyhow? Is it stuffy in here? I wish someone would turn up the air conditioning...."

Peggy moved on to the part of Phase II when the practitioner clears past life issues in the energy field. As my practitioner gently performed the movements in the air above my body, I found myself relaxing, breathing deeply. It was as if someone had opened a window and fresh air was streaming in. What a relief! I was able to feel comfortable and enjoy the rest of the session. I felt no particular emotional response, just a sense of release.

We took a break, and then it was my turn as practitioner. Peggy directed us through the steps, and I found myself relaxed and finding the movements familiar. It was starting to feel good to be the practitioner.

Early the next morning, I had a powerful dream. My first husband, whom I had lost to cancer, was with me in the dream. I was glad to see him and hugged him. I was then confounded to see that my second husband, Peter, was there as well. I realized that I had to make a choice. I knew that my choice was Peter and I had to say good-bye to my first husband. Painfully, I did so. Awaking, I felt emotional and disturbed. Clearly, the energy work was allowing me to release past issues.

Learning how to center
That day, class began as had the others. Peggy taught and we students took copious notes. This was the phase I had been looking forward to, Core Energy Balancing. Learning how to hold center amidst life's storms. I especially felt in need of it that morning.

Peggy taught us Phase III and a quick series of movements accompanied by visualization that centers the energy in your core - something that can be used in any situation to keep you centered and radiating balanced energy. Before we worked as practitioners, Peggy had us sit quietly and guided us through a meditation. She brought us to that centered place within, our place of wholeness and peace. Home. As she guided us within, I found that I had tears streaming down my cheeks. The joy was so great I thought I never wanted to return. Unfortunately, now I remember very little of what she said during that meditation. Only an echo of that feeling of "Home" remains.

During my turn as client in Phase III, I was able to feel the energy work being done for the first time. I felt tingling in my skin and a pressure where my practitioner was working, even when she was not touching me and I had my eyes closed. What a change!

"Turn the power down"

Going to sleep that night, or trying to, my body felt like a set of Christmas lights that had been plugged in. The sensation was jazzy, pleasant, tingly, and euphoric. I lay there enjoying the sensation for a long time. It made going to sleep impossible. Finally, knowing I had to be up early in the morning, I prayed for some help turning the power down. I powered down almost immediately and was able to fall asleep.

Future potential
On our last day, Peggy began by having us sit quietly and guided us into a meditation in which we met and gave whatever it was we wanted to co create to our future selves. This was an astonishingly vivid meditation.

Peggy finished the morning by teaching us Phase IV. After lunch, we paired off to practice. I was amazed to feel the energy strongly as my practitioner worked on me. Tingles, pressure, and warmth followed where she worked on my body. Then, as practitioner, that feeling of unconditional love was so strong that I worked with tears in my eyes and a grin on my face.

"It was as if my hands were electrified"

The end of the Phase IV sessions signaled the end of our week together. We gathered in a circle and placed our hands over and under the person's next to us, just as we had our first evening together. Peggy asked us to feel the energy. I could hardly believe how I felt that energy. It was as if my hands were electrified. We said good-bye, none of us wanting to leave, all of us wanting to linger in the loving energy of the group.

Clearly, the EMF Balancing Technique is love-based work. Peggy channeled the four phases over a period of several years. The work continues to progress and grow in its implementation and dissemination. Peggy's joy and delight in teaching and performing the work are palpable. She has a loving style of teaching and demonstrating, patiently answering questions and bolstering the self-esteem of budding practitioners. The partnership and love within which Peggy and Steve work sets the tone for the classroom, and the teaching.

While working with the energy, I experienced a growing sense of joy and delight. By the end of the week, just walking into the classroom felt good, so permeated was it with loving energy.

Looking back
As I look back on that experience from a distance of eight months, I realize that something powerful happened. I became acquainted with myself as an energetic being. I felt and saw my heart chakra open wide. My circuits were "plugged in" and I was able to feel the energy. I have maintained that sensitivity to energy. It intensifies my perceptions of those around me, and situations in which I find myself. It is as if a door has been opened to a new kind of knowing. I don't know where that door will take me, but I want to go.
